RED CARPET EVENTS

OPENING NIGHT - This up-scale event honors a major celebrity and/or important film premiere. Evening begins with a wine and food reception.

SURF NITE IN SLO - The 5th Annual event features an 'epic' surf film on the Fremont Theater's big screen, with guest surf legends and a lively after-party with live music.

KING VIDOR & INDEPENDENT FILM AWARDS - Closing night celebrity "meet and greet" reception hosted by local wineries and restaurants is followed by the George Sidney Independent Film Competition Awards, presented at the Fremont Theatre. The prestigious King Vidor Award is then presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the motion picture industry.

HOLLYWOOD & VINES EVENTS

2010 will feature three of these events in unusual venues in various parts of SLO County. A reception with great Central Coast wines and food is followed by a classic film, often with VIP guests in attendance.

SILENT FILM EVENTS

Two Silent Film events at Cal Poly's Performing Arts Center in collaboration with Cal Poly Arts.
October 17, 2009: The Hunchback of Notre Dame featuring 97-yr. old Bob Mitchell on the Forbes Pipe Organ
May 23, 2010: The Kings of Comedy / Shorts by Chaplin, Keaton and Lloyd featuring three different musical accompaniments

VENUE SPONSOR

The opportunity to sponsor all screenings at major Festival venues: the Palm Theatre, Downtown Cinemas, Park Cinemas and La Perla Del Mar.

EDUCATIONAL AND FILM PROGRAMS

Summer Youth Filmmaking Workshops: Two 2-week sessions of filmmaking camps for youth, grades 3-12
Behind-the Scenes Panels: A series of panels and workshops featuring industry pros, during the 2010 Festival
American Film Institute Scholarship: Supports a talented graduate student at the AFI Conservatory in Los Angeles
Filmmakers of Tomorrow Showcase: A youth film competition open to young people, grades K-12
Central Coast Filmmakers Showcase: Local filmmakers and films are featured one evening of the Festival
Wendy's Picks / World Cinema: Two programs during the Festival that feature unusual features and shorts from around the world.
