Save the date, prize money and more!

We know it’s a bit early to start planning to attend a film festival in 2013 BUT….we just want to make sure you know the 19th Annual San Luis Obispo International Film Festival will be happening MARCH 6-10, 2013. Please mark your calendars and don’t even think about scheduling any vacations to anywhere other than San Luis Obispo during that time. We bring the world to you – with a tantalizing array of films from around the globe, fascinating filmmakers, celebrities, and a party every night! Why would you go anywhere else? Festival passes go on sale soon, so stay tuned for great early-bird discounts.

Don’t miss the opportunity to make a movie, have a ball, learn a few things AND possibly win some cash! This summer we are offering young people and adults the chance to compete in an energetic 7-hour movie-making marathon in downtown San Luis Obispo. Teams of 3 or 4 will be given a “logline” and a place, person and thing that need to be incorporated into the film. It’s not easy, but it’s a lot of fun and you can be as creative as you want to be. Filmmakers will be on hand to guide you through the shooting and editing process and all films must be completed at 4pm sharp. The youth competition is on Friday, July 20 (10am-4pm) and adults compete on Saturday, July 21 (10am-4pm). All films will be screened on Sunday, July 22nd. The winning youth and adult films will win a $200 cash prize and more! All contestants receive a 2012 SLOIFF T-shirt too! Comedy Shorts at Niner Wine Estates!
What could be better than pairing fabulous wines with hilarious short films? If your answer is absolutely nothing, then you’re in for a treat at Niner Wine Estates on Saturday, June 9th when the SLO International Film Festival and Niner Wines collaborate once again on a special summer event you won’t want to miss!

The films are as delightful and varied as the wines. We’ve chosen a selection of the very best “vintage” comedies, from SLO Film Festival’s 2006 through 2012, all ranging from 10-20 minutes in length…with just enough time between films to fill your glass!  Details.

Hope to see you soon! Thanks for supporting the 2013 SLO International Film Festival….where Movies Matter!
