We are delighted to announce that we have a new (temporary) home for our 2012 Summer Youth/Adult Filmmaking Workshops! Clever Ducks has generously donated the empty office/retail space at 1301 Broad St. (at Pismo St.) right next to their new office in the old A & R Furniture building. The space we’ll be using is currently for lease and would make a great store or office space…the location is amazing!
There is still room in our week and two-week movie and animation camps, teen/adult weekend workshop and our popular “Movie in a Day Marathon”, running from July 9 to August 3. Click here for details and to register.
Major thanks to Amy and Peter Kardel of Clever Ducks for their support of our fun and educational summer program!
And we’d like to congratulate two 2012 SLOIFF alumni for winning a couple of awesome awards! Julio O. Ramos won a Student Emmy in April for his excellent short film, “A Doctor’s Job”, which was sponsored at our festival by James Harrison, MD. Mark Nelson just won a Student Academy Award for Animation for his short film, “Jockstrap Raiders”, which was sponsored by Holiday Inn Express & Suites Atascadero! Congratulations to these fine filmmakers, both grad students at UCLA’s School of Theatre, Film and Television. We wish them luck and success in their exciting filmmaking careers!
