Master of Ceremonies, KSBY’s Dan Shadwell will host the George Sidney Independent Film Awards, given each year to films in several categories, and juried by a group of film professionals and film-loving journalists. Audience Awards will also be presented by major Festival media sponsors and City officials.

John Hawkes will be the recipient of this year’s King Vidor Award. Star of The Sessions, Winter’s Bone and Deadwood, John Hawkes recently won Best Actor honors at the Independent Spirit Awards and a Golden Globe nomination for his role in The Sessions. SLOIFF Co-Founder and Palm Theatre owner, Jim Dee, will present the award and lead a conversation and Q&A with John Hawkes.
