….tomorrow night at the Cayucos Vets Hall!! Don’t miss the 1959 cheesy horror classic, THE MONSTER OF PIEDRAS BLANCAS. Shot in Cayucos in 1958 for two weeks and $50,000, many will recognize local landmarks in the background of each scene. Cayucos is one of the only beach towns in California that hasn’t changed too much fortunately, but in those days it was pretty sparsely populated, making it a very good place for a monster in a rubber suit to hide out!
Take a trip up the coast on Friday, November 15th and enjoy sunset from the pier, just steps from the Cayucos Vets Hall (10 Cayucos Dr.) where the movie will be screened at 7:30pm. Tickets will be on sale at the door at 6:30 and are also available now – click here to purchase tickets. Tickets are only $10 for general admission, and $8 for students and SLOIFF Film Society, and all proceeds will help fund the 2014 SLO International Film Festival.
There’s even a possibility that Brandon James, son of Jeanne Carmen – the star of the movie – will be in attendance to share stories from the filming and his mom’s career.
If you can’t make it to Cayucos, we’ve still got lots more fun SLO County on the Silver Screen movies ahead. Click here to see the schedule!
