A Little Movie News from SLO Film Fest

The screening of WRENCHED at the Palm Theatre on Wednesday evening was a big success! The almost-capacity crowd enjoyed the new documentary about the Monkey Wrench Gang, and the lively Q&A led by Central Coast Bioneer organizer/attorney, Michael Jencks. Thanks to all who came to see the movie, our friends at Central Coast Bioneers and to the Palm Theatre for hosting!

On September 24 at 7pm, there will be FREE screening of FIRST GENERATION, an award-winning documentary. iiiDesign is presenting this film as participants in Go College! Day, with events happening around the community. The inspiring film follows four low-income students through their last years of high school as they become the first in their families to pursue a higher education. After the film, Maria Arvizu-Rodriguez, an Academic Advisor from Cal Poly’s Educational Opportunity Program, will talk about how Cal Poly is serving the needs of low-income and first generation students in our county, and beyond. Admission is free, but an RSVP is required to hold a seat: bit.ly/GoCollegeSLO.
