It’s Friday and Day Four of the SLO Film Fest! It’s been a fabulous whirlwind of great films, fun Q&A’s and festive parties so far. And the excitement continues today and tonight! Here are some of the Friday highlights:
CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap is playing at the Fremont Theatre today at 4pm. Director Robin Hauser Reynolds will be there with Go Daddy’s Blake Irving and MINDBODY’s Kelly Irish to discuss the issues women face in the male world of computer science.
SOMM: Into the Bottle follows the story of 12 different bottles of wine. Director/producers Jason and Christina Wise will be in attendance, along with Master Sommelier Fred Dame who is in the film. Should be a great time in Paso Robles tonight! This film plays at the Park Cinemas at 7pm and Mogul pass holders can also attend an afterparty that is part of Vintage Paso: Zinfandel!
The Women & The Waves 2 is Heather Hudson’s new documentary that focuses on women and surfing! And it’s playing with La Maestra, another short documentary that involves a female teacher in Mexico…who surfs! They are playing today at 4:00pm at the Mission Cinemas and you can also catch them tomorrow at 10:00am at the Avila Beach Community Center.
The 11th Annual Surf Nite in SLO happens tonight at 7:30pm. This year, the internationally-renowned event is focusing on Big Wave Surfer and Mavericks champion Chris Bertish, the subject of Nadia Tarlow’s new documentary, Ocean Driven. Tickets are no longer being pre-sold, but there will be last minute tickets at the door once pass holders are admitted.
