Where to begin? There’s still so much good stuff left! But here are a few things you should try not to miss…
“Harold and Lillian” screens today at the Fremont Theatre at 1pm. Lillian herself will be there, accompanied by director Daniel Raim, and this documentary is pure delight for any movie fan. This screening is going to be fun!
“Urban Harvest” and “In Defense of Food” play together today at the Mission Cinemas at 1pm. A must-see for health-conscious or want-to-be-health-conscious people. Food guru Michael Pollan offers up some excellent..and tasty advice!
William Wellman Jr. will be hosting a screening of his father’s 1951 Western, “Westward the Women” at the Palm Theatre at 1pm. William Wellman Jr. is just full of great stories of old Hollywood and looks forward to sharing them with you.
Closing Night Awards begin at 5pm with the Central Coast Filmmaker Awards followed by the Audience Awards! Awards will be presented by a number of major festival sponsors and City of San Luis Obispo representatives. Right after that, sing-along to “Bye Bye Birdie,” our final tribute to the amazing Ann-Margret!
We’ll end the Festival with a party for pass holders and volunteers in the Hollywood & Vines Festival Tent, sponsored by the City of San Luis Obispo.
There will be no extra screenings. A number of the films that sold out are not available to us to screen a third time. Many popular films will be available either online soon, or via the FilmFest Media access provided with the Mogul Pass this year. Thanks for helping to pack the theatres and we apologize to all who didn’t get a chance to see movies they wanted to see. But you know what they say…”leave them wanting more!”
See you at the movies!
