We are rolling out the news about the upcoming March 13-18 SLO Film Fest and have just put tickets on sale for two more special events!
On Wednesday, March 14 at 7pm at the Fremont Theatre, Central Coast filmmaker Bob Williams’ new short film about last year’s SLO Women’s March will screen first (Trailer). If you were at that very successful march, you might be in this film…pussy-hat and all! Right after “Let It Shine: The Story of the Women’s March SLO”, we’ll do a Q&A with Bob and some of the Women’s March organizers. Then we are very proud to screen the brand new documentary that is getting great buzz from other festival’s, with director Jennifer Townsend in attendance for a Q&A. “Catching Sight of Thelma & Louise” revisits this iconic movie at a very interesting time (Trailer). Also on sale now is the ground-breaking new film from France that was short-listed as an Academy Award nominee – “BPM” or “Beats Per Minute.” Telling the arresting story of the ACT-Up Paris movement that fought indifference in the face of the tragic AIDS epidemic. This special screening will benefit our local Access Support Network, and plays on Thursday, March 15 at the Fremont Theatre at 7pm. Click here for more details and tickets.
Stay tuned for our FULL FESTIVAL PROGRAM to be announced tomorrow (Friday, March 16) online and in printed Festival Guides that will be distributed countywide starting tomorrow!
See you at the movies!
