The SLO Film Festival Thanks You!

The leaves are falling and temperature is dropping. While the turkey’s roasting and the potatoes are boiling, we’ll be reflecting on the past year and all the generosity you’ve shown our festival. THANK YOU to our volunteers, staff, board members, sponsors, filmmakers and patrons who make the SLO Film Festival what it is today.

Films to Be Thankful For:

Here’s a short list of films to get you through the holiday weekend:

Pieces of April (2003)
Truly one of Katie Holmes finest (and often underrated) roles, she shines in this dysfunctional family drama that we can all sort of relate to.

Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987)
Need a laugh? Nothing says the holidays like John Hughes and this great classic! Two comedy greats, Steve Martin and John Candy deliver hilarious gags that make this Thanksgiving adventure unforgettable.

The House of Yes (1997)
Marty is eager to bring his new fiancé (Tori Spelling) home for Thanksgiving to his eccentric family. Highlights are Indie goddess Parker Posey as a Jackie Kennedy obsessed sister in this unique black comedy.

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1973)
It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without the Peanuts gang and good old “Holidays always depress me” Charlie Brown.

What’s your favorite holiday film? Let us know!
