As yoga has become more commercialized, this film seeks to illuminate yoga’s original traditions and holistic practices through the words and experiences of authentic practitioners. The story begins in Nepal, where one of the forefathers of Hatha Yoga opened the practice in the 11th and 12th centuries, and notes that Hatha Yoga used to be intertwined with worship, a dimension largely absent from the contemporary practice of yoga. In the director’s words, she hopes the audience “gains a better understanding of the true potential of the yogic journey and how it can extend far beyond the physical practice.”
