The opening film of one of the world’s largest festivals, Berlinale, we are delighted to kick off our Festival with this charming new movie about Joanna, a young woman (Margaret Qualley) who dreams of becoming a writer in 1990s New York. She is hired by an old-fashioned literary agent (Sigourney Weaver) who just happens to represent the legendary reclusive writer J.D. Salinger. Struggling to maintain an apartment in the high-priced city with her socialist boyfriend, Joanna learns to deal with her luddite boss’s penchant for typewriters, dictaphones, wood-paneling and three-martini lunches. As she works to process large volumes of Salinger’s fan mail, her creative aspirations clash with the reality of simply earning a living. Comedy/Drama. TRAILER
