A redux of our popular panel at last year”s festival about Building Representation into Film, Join us again with Fanshen Cox and Sohini Sengupta to  assess what “moves“ the movie business has made this past year related to inclusion and equity in filmmaking – creatively and as a business – and where you all want to see this industry move towards.

Fanshen Cox – Actor, Educator, Writer, Producer
Award-winning playwright, actor, producer & educator, Fanshen Cox recently completed touring her one-woman show: One Drop of Love. Fanshen is also a Producer and Development Executive at Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s Pearl Street Films. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cape Verde, West Africa, and holds a BA in Spanish & Education, an MA in TESOL, and an MFA in TV, Film & Theatre. She has been honored with Distinguished Alumni Awards from CSULA and from Teachers College, Columbia University. She serves on the board of The Annenberg Inclusion Initiative and on the Kennedy Center’s Turnaround Arts Equity Advisory Committee. Fanshen is also a co-author of the Inclusion Rider which was announced at the 2018 Oscar awards by Frances McDormand.

Sohini Sengupta – Group Creative Director, Amazon Studios
Sohini Sengupta is an award-winning creative director of numerous theatrical, television and streaming advertising campaigns.  Currently a group creative director at Amazon Studios.  Her campaigns including Birdman, 12 Years a Slave, Black Swan, Ex Machina, Dope, Room, Milk, Slumdog Millionaire and many others. At HBO, her and her team oversaw the campaigns for original programming, documentaries, and kids programming including Game Of Thrones, Westworld, Night Of, Sharp Objects, Big Little Lies, The Deuce, The Defiant Ones, Leaving Neverland, Girl in the River, Beware the Slenderman, Bright Lights, Sesame Street and others. She has been on numerous panels including for SXSW, Promax Asia, and Toronto Film Festival. She has also creatively produced short films for Film Independent and ITVS along and a feature film that premiered at LAFF-called Chee and T. In addition to her “day job,” Sohini currently co-heads ReVision Movement, an initiative to increase inclusion, diversity and equity within the entertainment marketing industry.
