Based on writer/director Lori Stoll’s own experience, Heaven’s Floor tells the story of an LA photographer on assignment in the Canadian Arctic, totally unprepared for the danger awaiting her. Rescued by an eleven-year old orphan named Malaya, she is taken to a small Inuit community where she and the girl form a close bond. Adoption and a trip south to the city seems like a good idea until Malaya is faced with the realities of a new home lightyears away from what she is used to. Beautiful cinematography and honest performances make this an unforgettable film. 86 min. USA/Canada.
