The SLO Film Fest is delighted to include the historic and recently renovated Octagon Barn as a venue this year. The uniquely shaped barn, built in 1906, is located on the southern edge of San Luis Obispo surrounded by gorgeous farmland. Lovingly restored by the Land Conservancy, it is now poised for new activity as an historical landmark and center for education, recreation, conservation and the arts.
This event is limited to only 100 people and will not be included in any of the Festival Passes. This is a special fundraiser for the Land Conservancy to assist with the completion of the barn restoration project.
THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN
plus Barn Dance with MOLLY’S REVENGE
“Sure I may be tuckered, and I may give out, but I won’t give IN!” Debbie Reynolds shines as the “unsinkable” Molly Brown in this delightful 1964 MGM musical that garnered her a Best Actress Oscar. Rescued from the Colorado River as an infant and raised by an Irish-Catholic family in the woods of Colorado, tomboy Molly is determined to find a wealthy man to marry. Reynolds plays the tomboy as believably as she does the cultured woman she yearns to become. Nominated for 6 Oscars, this one’s a crowd-pleaser! 128 min.
Debbie Reynolds son, Todd Fisher plans to be in attendance, along with a selection of costumes from the movie!
After the movie, kick up your spurs to the lively music of Molly’s Revenge! And enjoy a BBQ dinner from Old San Luis BBQ, wine from Rancheros Cellars, and beer courtesy of Central Coast Distributing.
It’s the perfect pre-St. Patrick’s Day celebration!
