A young New York artist’s life is forever altered when his two best friends are killed on 9/11, and he accepts guardianship of the couple’s two young daughters. Eleven years later, he is teaching elementary school art and raising the girls as if they were his own. But the financial grind of living in NY becomes too much, so he decides to move the family back to his hometown of Buffalo. This “non-traditional” family, hatched from traumatic events, must again deal with drastic change. As each of the three grapple with redefining themselves individually, they reinvent family – yet again. Comedy/Drama. 112 min. USA.
