In 2016, a study was conducted revealing the shocking statistic that less than 2% of the professional orchestra workforce in the U.S. is Black. A loving portrait of a tireless mentor and a testament to the transformative power of music, THE ORCHESTRA CHUCK BUILT follows as former lawyer-turned-conductor Chuck Dickerson sets out on a mission to change the future of the profession in the form of a majority Black and Latino youth orchestra.
